Reviews – the how and where
I have previously written a post on the ‘why’ of reviews. If you are convinced enough to want to help your favourite author in this way, sometimes it is still not enough. Many first-time reviewers need to be guided through the process.
Below I will list the main sites that would help me personally. You DO NOT have to do all of them. If you are reviewing in multiple places, then you can just copy and paste the same review for each book across multiple sites.
For my books, I will simply give you three direct links for each site. Once you’ve done two reviews on a site, you should be able to work out how to do any other books that you want to.
Goodreads
Goodreads is a book review site for book lovers. I find it a useful place to keep track of what I have read in a given year (since I like to do a blog post each year on my top 10 Christian reads). You can also keep ‘books I want to read’ lists.
This requires you to sign-up for a FREE account but it is easy to do.
Here is a short (1 minute) video to help you.
I find it easy to do a star rating (5 stars is the HIGHEST rating) but not so easy to do the review (by far the most important) – hence the video.
Grace in Strange Disguise
Sword Fighting
Grace Collection (Books 1-3) – I put this one in case you’re wanting to just do 3 books at a time (a short general review) rather than each book separately. Both methods are valuable.
Wells and Wanderers – Amorites
BookBub
Pros
- You can follow your favourite authors and you’ll be alerted when any of their ebooks are on sale (or free) and when they release new books.
- Follow me on BookBub.
- I recommend my top reads (4-5 star) in Christian categories (I am not recommending many other books but keeping it limited to Christian books).
Cons:
- You have to sign up for an account although it is free.
- It can be hard for non-US/Ca/UK to get a free account. Try and see and contact me if you have any problems.

SALES SITES
Some of these sales sites require you to sign-up for a free account and others don’t. One is only for Australians (Koorong – the last one I’ll list).
Sites that don’t require sign-up
My direct store – PayHip
You do not have to buy at my store to review there. Scroll right down to the bottom of the book page and find the green ‘write a review’ button. Copy and paste your review in there.
Wells and Wanderers – Amorites
Google Play
I sometimes have to hit the ‘review’ button several times before it allows me to do so. This is an excellent site to buy from if you are outside the major countries. I would love to see more sales from this company.

Sword Fighting
Grace Collection (Books 1-3)
Apple Books
Click through to ‘view in Apple books’ and then look to the right of the book cover for the ‘ratings and reviews’ tab. Click on that. Assign a star rating (5 is the highest). and then ‘write a review’ button.

Sword Fighting
Grace Collection (Books 1-3)
Barnes and Noble
This company uses the ‘Nook’ device and only sells in the US but it allows anyone to review on their site.

Grace Collection (Books 1-3)
Their review system is a little more fiddly and I couldn’t review using the Firefox browser but succeeded with Google Chrome.
Sites that do require sign-up
Kobo
I find this the easiest place to actually review once you’ve got a free account. I am also tending to read my ebooks through Kobo nowadays using their free Kobo app download for my device.

Grace Collection (Books 1-3)
Amazon
Amazon requires you to be a $50/year customer (any products, not just books). This rule was designed to stop scammers putting up fake reviews but it has really hurt international authors. If you are a regular customer, please use your privilege!

Grace Collection (Books 1-3)
Koorong
Only needed for Australians as this is our largest Christian bookseller. You do get a bonus for reviews for Koorong. For every four (4) reviews they will give you a $10 off voucher and if you do video reviews, then you receive a voucher for every two (2) reviews.
And finally – a HUGE thank you to all of those who review my books. I am so thankful for your part. Please continue to also tell people about the books you find helpful. Word-of-mouth recommendation is still the most powerful tool of them all.

Thank you Miss Dillon. For the incredible witness you’ve provided through your storytelling. You truly are blessed of God, and you in turn, bless your readers!
Blessings others and spurring them on to chase after Jesus are some of my purposes. Thank you for your comments.
Christine, I have just read my first book, written by you ‘Grace across the Miles’. As a 79 year old, I am learning to write, so not only did I consider the christian content, I considered your writing voice. Every night, I devoured one or two chapters, and of course, was tempted to keep reading. ‘No,’ I thought. ‘I’ll just enjoy a chapter each night, to make the joyous feast last.’
So why did I enjoy your story? I loved the spiritual depth where real life scenes relate to following Jesus in the good times, as well as the most difficult. I love the skill of story-telling because I’m always loved learning memory verses and I think that in this post-christian era, this is a brilliant tool to use I do have your book on that subject, so I’ll check that out. Do you have a FB page for those of us who desire to do this? I live in a small country town, so don’t get heaps of fellowship.
I’ve read books by other christian authors, (just a couple because I’m not really a reader). I must say, your writing from a christian perspective captured my heart and soul. God bless you richly, and keep writing. Maybe, just as God used Esther for such a time, He is using you. Thank you.
I have been enjoying the Grace books. My mind was opened to how much God wants us to search and pray for opportunities to tell people of Him.
The language is written so well, that I could follow easily, even though I am not English.
May Gods Word be spread through your writing. it has definitely inspired me to spread His Word.
so glad you found them easy to read and inspiring.
