Recommend books for your public library
Did you even know that you could recommend books for your local library?
One of the things that has surprised me is that public libraries, even in Australia, will buy Christian fiction or Christian books. US libraries have HUGE Christian or clean fiction sections. For other countries, you’ll have to try and see. Even here, the librarian might block CF but if you can go to their shelves and find prominent US-CF authors, then you have a better argument that it is already in the library.
Choose the format to recommend
Libraries have a range of formats – audio, print, large print, ebooks, and hardbacks.
You can recommend any of these formats but each format requires different ways of recommending. Most librarians are delighted to help you – so go and ask and let them teach you the process. Usually for print/large print it would be a short form of some sort.
LARGE print would be my preference. Here are the ISBN numbers.
Why LP? Because my books suit older readers and also there are less LP books available and so they’ll be more noticeable. Anyone that likes print can also borrow LP.
Ebooks
For those who prefer ebooks, the recommending is usually done via an app or website associated with the method that you borrow.
That is via Overdrive/Libby; Hoopla; BorrowBox; Scribd.
I have started to recommend books to my local library via OD/L and have found you only need the author’s name or title of the book. That is, you don’t need to know the ISBN. If your system does need an ISBN, you can go to an online bookseller like Kobo and find the ISBN under the book details.
Audio
All of my books are available as audiobooks too. Again, your library will have a system they use. It may be Hoopla or Scribd. Ask your librarian to show you how you can recommend audiobooks for the library to purchase.
If you have recommended my books to your local library anywhere in the world, I’d love to know which books and which library or country. Please put it in the comments below. Thank you.

As a Director of our local public library, I read and buy Christian books! It has better numbers than my adult fiction. Our patrons love our collection which I am always trying to improve. I love to read what others are reading. Love finding new authors!
We do live in a conservative community in Lancaster County PA that use our small library!
Lots of good books in my annual ‘top ten’ – I think I’ve been doing the list since 2018.
I’ve read 2 of your books ( and plan to read more!) on Hoopla. My library is in Troy, IL in the USA
